Kitchen demo day is finally here, there is no one more excited to get this kitchen renovation going than Kam and I! We’re going to be doing a full gut renovation, removing all of the existing kitchen cabinets, soffits, appliances, etc. One of the biggest aspects of our kitchen demo is removing our cabinet soffits, which seems like a very hot topic for a lot of people!
If you’re interested in seeing how we demo’d the cabinets and the kitchen soffits, we have a full YouTube vlog on the process and what worked best for us. In the end, we are very fortunate that we only had one vent pipe running in our kitchen soffits that we needed to re-route.
A quick tip if you’re considering removing your kitchen soffits, before starting any major demo we cut holes in the ends of each soffit, looked in with a flash-light to understand how much plumbing, electrical, or mechanical was running through it before we committed to fully removing them.
