If you’ve been following along on instagram, you’ve seen that we’ve already started work on our foyer. However, we had not yet revealed our full design plan for the room. Phase 1 of the foyer includes painting, replacing all trim, replacing the foyer chandelier, refinishing the staircase railing and flooring, and finishing off by styling the room with some pieces we already have and other new items!
Now let’s break down some of the things we’ve selected on our mood board (items below may contain our affiliate link):
Whole House Items – We have a mood board which covers some of the same things included above such as flooring, paint colors, door hardware, and flush mount lighting. For links to those items see our Whole House Mood Board post.
Chandelier – We have the chandelier installed and are so happy with our first project in the foyer! We installed the Ashleigh Chandelier by Mitzi in brass.
Medallion – We paired with the chandelier with a ceiling medallion to provide a mix of old and new. We installed the Kirke 31″ Medallion by Ekena Millwork.
Staircase – For the existing staircase we will be removing the carpet, installing new finish treads and risers along with painting the entire staircase plus railing. We picked up these treads and these risers from Home Depot. For paint, we’ll be using SW Armorseal Tread-Plex Paint in Tricorn Black and Behr Premium Interior Cabinet and Trim Paint in Pure White Satin.
Foyer Rug – Right now we’ve selected a Loloi 2′ x 3′ rug from the Adrian Collection, ADR-03 Terracotta / Multi, for at the front door. We haven’t purchased this yet but we really like how it the colors work very well with the palette.
Mirror – We’ll be using the same entry mirror that we used in our previous condo, which was a FBMP / OfferUp find. I still can’t believe we purchased this mirror for $40!
Entry Table – We’ve ordered a custom size unfinished entry table from SawDustCollection on Etsy so it fits our entry foyer perfectly.
Accents – We’ve preliminarily selected a brass pedestal table from Wayfair, the Dealba 21.5” Tall Steel Pedestal End Table, the Regis Ottoman in Juniper Green from Article, and we will plan to pair those with an antique framed picture (which we haven’t found yet).
With our foyer mood board in mind, here’s an idea of what the whole room will look like upon completion (and a crazy before!):
